Ep 96 – Dear President Simmons

Written by on August 13, 2014

Glenn reads an open letter to his Stake President on account of his Stake President calling two of Glenn’s friends in to ask questions about Glenn and his testimony. Will there be a sequel? Only time will tell.

I’m more interested in testing the spy network. 🙂
But seriously, my world and his world don’t need to intersect. I’m not creating havoc in his stake. And any potential council or discipline would have zero impact on anything. It’s just really annoyed me that he called in those friends of mine to ask them questions about me! Lame.

Great letter and as always I love your use of music (especially the Logical Song). Please keep us updated if you hear anything back. That was a treble-douche move to call in your friends.

    Spy network….yeah. Hello family!
I would love for this to happen to me. Loved the response. Another great mini.
I wonder if my brother sent my podcast to my SP yet? Would not surprise me. If so, I may need to forward this along. 🙂

Hmm. this is an interesting development. It seems that Intellectual reserve inc is ramping up the heat on vocal critics. Bizarrely they seem to want to enact enforcement for those long gone from active participation. Its troubling, but in the end utterly futile.
Will they take temple recommends away from family of the disaffected next, similar to KK’s parents?

Maybe. But it might also be connected to my ex-FIL being made bishop over the ward I don’t attend. Although to be fair, he’s a pretty cool guy. I still like him a lot. My ex-MIL on the other hand… I wouldn’t put something like this past her. But I really have no idea.

I have waited for them to bother me in patience. nothing….all I want to do is tell them to go away once they show up. Is this too much to ask?

Boys state! I attended Girls State in Idaho and I always appreciate a good boys state/girls state reference. Although we never did anything as fun as water balloon assassinations at girls state. Anyway, great episode. Hopefully this is part one of a potentially hilarious series of events.

Enjoy most podcasts… Although this one had mocking birds turn to angry birds… Keep flapping your wings boys. Critical analysis of material from decades past required perhaps a little more contextualization even though relevant to present day issues. Best

Sorry for the confusion, I wrote this comment on the wrong podcast. Hence, it makes little sense.
I am indebted for all the fine work that is done to produce these fantastic podcasts.
(Btw Witt is for Wittgenstein – used to be one of my favourite philosophers. But, I should change nickname).

I think he means you guys have always been so mindful, tactful, respectful and considerate in the past but now you’ve crossed a line. When you dissect the three degrees of glory you’ve gone to far!

I liked this so much I listened to it twice. And the inclusion of “Instant Karma” was brilliant.
This “One Foot In” thing must be scaring the shit out them. I wonder if it’s real or a rumor some people started just to get them to act out irrationally like this. It’s never going to work–reaching out to friends and family like that is going to annoy people and creep them out.

Google search for ‘One Foot In’ comes up with connection to being close to death, as in ‘ one foot in the grave.’ But the pres was likely referring to one foot in the church, although that’s a new term for me.
I recently did some casual viewing of information concerning Masons. They use the term celestial too. I assume that they would use the term telestial as well and is likely where ole Joe got his 3 degrees of glory from.
