Join Carl as he negotiates the angst-ridden borderlands of casual Satanism in this ongoing series. In this installment, Carl attends his sister’s wedding, where some of his worst fears are realized.
Special thanks to Allison, Wendy, Matt, John, and Bob for participating.

When I was getting ready to go to the temple for the first time, a friend of mine said “Don’t drop the goat. You’ll be really embarrassed if you drop the goat.” Does anyone know of anybody deciding not to go through with the endowment in that beginning moment where the guy is all like “if any of you don’t want to do this then now is your chance to speak up?” (paraphrasing)
I’m liking this casual satanist segment more and more.

I had a friend say something similar: “Whatever you do, don’t touch the animals.” I was pretty bummed when there weren’t any animals.
I knew a guy on my mission whose sister walked out of the endowment ceremony and never went back to church. Don’t know if it was specifically at that part, but apparently it does happen. Doubt it’s often. Can you imagine the kind of courage it would take to do that? Incredible courage.

My wife almost did that her first time through the temple. The only reason she didn’t was because we were going to get married soon and she didn’t want to mess things up with that.

Loved Carl the Casual Satanist! I had to show it to my friends, they also thought it was a blast.

I just wish Carl would have participated in the sacrifice… 🙁
Poor sister. The middle of the wedding is not the time. 🙁
