Written by on December 17, 2015

Ho Ho Ho and happy birthday Jesus! Celebrate all the Holidays this and learn the reason for the season by listening to Scott and Matt discuss how grateful Dallin H. Oaks is to get Holiday cards. Cuz he is. He really really is. As long as they are the right ones.

I, too, get really irritated with people who forget the “reason for the season:” that the earth’s axis is tilted 23.4 deg. off of perpendicular relative to the plane of its orbit around the sun.
And, you want to talk about a War on Christmas? Try finding Christmas paraphernalia in March in preparation for True Christmas on April 6th. The malicious neglect that abounds then makes Starbucks’ failure to include snowflakes on their “holiday” cups this year look almost innocent!
A Solicitous Solstice to you all, and to Elder Oaks, as well!

Dear St. Ralph, a sanctimonious celebration is not to be avoided. A solstice is a time for celebration on its merit alone.
Not long ago our ancestors gathered to chant the sun back up in the “heavens” else it might sink below the horizon not to return ever again.
I have created the Unicard for such occasions,

Perfect for you friends and soulmates.
Solicitous Solstice to you all, good night and good luck.

Thank you for taking on Hoax’s dickish comments. My first thought on reading this was, “You don’t deserve Christmas cards if you are going to judge them on their sanctimony.”
It is sad to see Mormons fall into the Evangelical trap of “War on Xmas.” It’s hard enough to deal with TBM relatives at the holidays without them going on the warpath against secularism. Of course, none of them complain that the over commercialization of Xmas has made it such a secular holiday that the US Supreme Court deemed it as such.

Personally, I’m an Anglican. As such Advent + Christmas + Epiphany are important to me in the season. That said:
I absolutely love the war on Christmas. It is just a fine time to troll the few who actually make a big deal out of this.
My favorite though was a few years ago while I was in line at Fred Meyer. The checker said to the guy in front me, “Happy Holidays” and the guy sort of went off on him about taking Jesus out of the season. I tapped him on the shoulder and wished him a blessed Advent. He gave me a filthy look, told me that I was ruining the season, this is a Christian nation, and just because I hate Christians I didn’t need to rub it in his face.
I have a button that I wear during Christmas season (December 25th – January 6th) that says, “Merry Xmas” with a Chi Rho in the background. I get told off at least once a year for crossing out Jesus.
Trolling people who are convinced there is a war on Christmas is like shooting fish in a barrel. And I’m a bloody Christian who loves to do this sort of crap. 😀

I’m going to send him a seasons greetings card and sign it with a mushroom stamp, then sit back and giggle the rest of the holidays thinking about his little mind imploding 😂😂😂

I am Swedish. I live in Sweden.
“Christmas cards” here so not say Merry Christmas, they say God Jul – which would translate to “Good Yule”. (Even if it looks like it, to an English speaking audience, it does NOT refer to “god”,) Cultures and languages differ. MOST “Christmas” traditions have a pagan origin. Deal with it!
If Oaks is to high and mighty, leading an international [sic!] church, to receive non-English greetings then F him! That bald slimy bigoted piece of sh*t!!!
If he, also, believes that that Christ was born on April 7th it makes this even more ridiculous… BUSTED!
